The National Association of Wheat Growers plans to sell its longtime headquarters near Capitol Hill and move to a new location early next year.
NAWG currently occupies a 12,000-square-foot office building at 415 2nd St. NE in Washington, D.C., only a short walking distance from the halls of Congress. The building has been owned by the association's educational counterpart—the National Wheat Foundation—since 1978.
The group said it will move on Jan. 4, 2020, but did not disclose the location of its new offices. It also did not disclose the asking price for the existing property.
"The National Wheat Foundation recognized that selling the building was in the best interest for wheat growers," NWF Executive Director and NAWG CEO Chandler Goule said in a statement. "The Foundation spent nearly a year deciding the next best steps for the building but was certain that NAWG's new location must be located on Capitol Hill to continue their strong representation for wheat growers."
NAWG reported $2.1 million in revenue in 2018, according to tax records.
